H07RN-F cable explained
Manufactured for electrical equipment connections & trailing extension leads in harsh indoor or outdoor conditions H07RN-F cable is a highly flexible tough hard wearing rubber cable with high abrasive resistance, high mechanical protection, resistant to most oils & greases. It is far superior in every way including flexibility than PVC type cables. It is genuinely very easy to man handle & coil after use even in freezing conditions trust us in the winter of 2010 we have handled it the workshop down to -10deg & it still performed like it was 20deg ambient, the cable is heli-coil resistant which means if coiled properly it will not spiral along the floor like some PVC cables. We use it to construct extension leads from heavy duty high quality13amp to industrial 63amp 3 phase leads.
To prove the mechanical protection for "test reasons only" we have a 1.5mm 3core h07rn-f cable on the floor of the workshop connected to a Extra Low Voltage controlled foot switch, this rubber cable has been run over with <200kg drums of cable for years now & would still pass a PAT test. Just like a car tyre H07RN-F rubber cable compresses then bounces back into shape.
What does H07RN-F stand for?
H - ( Harmonized )
07 - ( 450/750volts )
R - ( EPR- ethylene polychloropene rubber ) high resistance to abrasion
N - PCP (Polychloroprene) sheath,oil,grease & water resistant
F - ( fine wire flexible cord )
PCP- Flame retardant to IEC 60332-1-2
